Note from Lacure School : What a great day we had at Lacure. Our families brought in enough paper products and health nonperishables to fill 7 big boxes to send to Clio Community Services to use in their Christmas boxes. KC club members were challenged to pay it forward. One student brought in a candy bar for her friend with a pay it forward sticker on it. Another brought flowers for her teacher and the school secretary. One family put quarters in the gumball machines so that when an unsuspecting child came up s/he could get a free treat. Another family put money in the newspaper box with a note saying that your paper was already paid for just open the door. Our pop machine at work had a note on it that said your pop has already been paid for. What a fun day! Love Clio and the people in it. Hoping the trend continues. Thanks for hosting the event!

Our Hurley Teen Health Check Student Heart Screening Program combines a simple health history and noninvasive screening to look for signs of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM). This is a serious heart condition that is the leading cause of sudden cardiac death in young athletes. HCM affects approximately one in 500 people, and does not usually have any symptoms. The stress on the heart during strenuous activities puts our students at higher risk for sudden death.
Thank you very much for coming to Clio! Our community supports your efforts with our young people; and we know that there is even more that can be done in the area of health, fitness, and nutrition. We look forward to working with you on many other projects in the future.
